On Your Mind

Do you ever think of me in the middle of the night?
When you wake and want to be held tight?
Or is there someone else youd rather hold?
Whose arms youd rather feel wrapped around yours.
In the darkest hour when youre all alone.
Who is it you think of, who is it you want to hold?

Do you ever dream of me when Im not there?
Wish you could pull me to you, feel me near.
Do you ever reach out wanting me and find Im not there?
Or do you reach out for someone else
The emptiness too much to bear.
Do you miss me or am I even there?

Do you ever find my name upon you lips?
Or is there someone else youd rather kiss?
Do you ever stop and turn for you thought I was there?
Or would you just pass me by without a care?
Am I on your mind at certain times of the day?
Or do you just brush thoughts of me away?

Empty

Stepping into your smile, like sunlight upon the ocean

Scattered beams of light, a rare gem among the dust

I reach for your touch, the light so golden and warm

Your blinding sunlight beckons me to you

With a warmth, I've yet to feel so much

Closer now I come upon you and you smile at me

I'm falling, slipping further into your heart

Catch me now for I fear I'll hit the ground

You turn and let me fall, walking away from it all

What's happened here? I feel like a fool

Led into your dream but you awoke with a start

Tell me again the time that was, is time you do not own

The days you made for me are days that you do not know

Golden light now shadowed by darkness

A piercing hollow silence, I'm all alone

Your arms once embracing me, now cast me aside

Your kindness hiding the truth that you never cared

I opened to you a part of me not many knew

The coldness of dew as it falls from the rose

Your gaze once warm now chills my soul

Im left lying here my head spinning from your words

You walk away as though I no longer exist

I, but just a memory in your dream

Lost to time, we disappear from this moment

Like an Illusion youve gone from me and I from you

And stillness fills this now empty room

Missing you

I looked for you today but you were not there.
Too far behind or too far ahead to care.
Time runs on blurring memories of the past.
A smile, a glance, that beautiful laugh.

I looked for you today but you could not be found.
Too busy to see me or too tired to turn around.
The seconds tick by, the hands of time sway
Everything moves on but here I stay.

I thought of you today and I shed a tear
Too many times Ive cried and too many times you never cared.
My day began and ended alone
I miss you more than youll ever know

I write this for you for I have no other way to express
So much I want to say to you but I do not regret
Moments shared with you, your touch ,your breath.
I can still feel your heart beating against my chest.

I write this that you may understand
Too many things to push you away too many reasons not to stay
So time moves you on though Im standing still
Time will see me through but Im missing you still.

Dark Side

Beyond the shadow of your disguise
A hallow place behind your eyes
The bittersweetness of your kiss
A love that was deprived of bliss

I search in vain for your soul
The place I find is far from whole
Can depth exist in shallow graves?
Crimson and darkness run through your veins

Your smile inflicting wounds
Your voice, a haunting tune
Cast aside all that was light
Hiding yourself now in the night
